A few things to know

Each route has a flat registration rate of $20 to cover event costs, and a fundraising minimum. Youth riders ages 17 and younger are only required to raise a minimum of $50 for all routes.

Some routes have multiple start times, so you can choose an option that works best for you. This means that even if you and your teammates are riding different routes, you may be able to start at the same time! During the registration process, the menu will list all the times by route, so please be careful when selecting and make sure to choose the correct time.

Helmets are required for all riders. There are rest stops located throughout each route that allow riders a place to relax, rehydrate and recharge before continuing along their ride. Safety is a priority for The Ride For Roswell!

Please Note: Routes are subject to change based on road conditions and new construction. Check prior to The Ride for any updates.

Canada Routes – Special Notes

Riders on the Canada routes will need to provide official documentation to The Ride For Roswell and customs officials to verify their ability to cross international borders. Riders will need to bring their personal ID for border crossing. If you did not submit your ID on time, or if you registered after June 6 and did not have the opportunity to be prescreened, tell the border official who will direct you to a standard customs lane. For additional information regarding travel requirements into Canada, click here.

Both Peace Bridge and Rainbow Bridge will hold a bicycles-only lane for us. Rainbow Bridge reserved lane back to the US closes at 10:30 am

Merges – The 44 Mile Canada route merges with the 10-20-30 Mile river routes at Clinton and Broad streets, City of Tonawanda, and ride together to UB Finish Line. Please vary your speed to accommodate slower riders of all experience levels.

Bike & Rider Accommodations

Since the Canada routes start at Roswell Park and end at UB North, there will be some shuttle and bike truck options available on Saturday, June 22.

  • The 26-mile Canada route ends at the Niagara Falls Intake Park. Riders will be shuttled to UB, and have the option of trucking their bike to either UB or Roswell Park.
  • The 44-mile Canada route ends at UB North. Riders can truck their bikes from the Lee Loop at UB North to Roswell Park.
  • Shuttles leave UB Lee Loop for Roswell Park every 30 minutes, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

You are responsible for arranging your own transportation.

There is no bag drop available at Roswell Park Campus for Saturday routes. We cannot be responsible for personal items left behind. Please store all the items you cannot wear or carry on your bike locked in your vehicle.

100-Mile Country Century – Special Notes

This 100-mile cycling course starts and ends at UB North, and is geared for cyclists who are able to bike for a longer time at an average speed of at least 15 mph. PLEASE NOTE that the 2019 route does not go to Golden Hills State Park.

Rest Stops – There are 24 miles between Akron Falls rest stop and the Genesee County rest stop at North Darien Bible Church. Riders must stop at Akron Falls to restore, rehydrate, and refill water bottles.

Gate Closings – All riders divert to shortcuts back to UB noted in cue sheets after these times.

  • Indian Falls Rd – Akron – 8:15 a.m.
  • Rte 5 East Pembroke – 9:15 a.m.
  • Martin Cedar – 11:30 a.m.
  • Bartel & Ditch – 12:00 p.m.

Steel Deck Bridge Hazard – Block Church Rd and Burdick Rd. This serrated bridge is at grade. High speed and damp conditions will result in crash and injury. Watch your speed and stay in control on this bridge.

All inbound Country Routes merge at Wolcott and Northfield, Clarence. Vary your speed accordingly.

NOTE: New riders MUST pre-qualify for the century route. You can do this by demonstrating proof of having done a ride of more than 62.5 miles at an average speed of at least 15 mph (completing a 62.5-mile ride in five hours or less or a 100-mile ride in eight hours or less). Proof can include a copy of your event registration form or your numbered event bib (or a copy of it), or a GPS data record of your ride.

Western New York rides that will allow you to qualify for the 100-mile route include Tom’s Pro Bike’s Spring Ride; the Ride For Missing Children; and the Tour de Cure.

You may also qualify by completing The Ride For Roswell 65-mile Pre Ride on June 15, 2019. Pre Ride meets at UB North for a 7 a.m. start time. Morning snacks, rest stop and post-ride lunch are provided. RSVP for the June 15 Pre Ride by email – rideforroswell@roswellpark.org
