If you’re a returning participant to The Ride For Roswell, you may be familiar with seeing the camaraderie among teammates on Ride Day. From the matching T-shirts to after-parties in team tents, the excitement and motivation is contagious.
If you have never participated in The Ride as a member or leader of a team, this is your year! Our Ride For Roswell teams contribute more than 80% of The Ride’s annual fundraising total. Creating a team is simple. All you need is two people, one of whom will serve as the team captain. Team captains are responsible for getting the team registered, recruiting team members, keeping them motivated to raise funds to fight cancer and making sure everyone is all set for Ride Day. We even have special team captain guides available to walk you through the process! Download this guide if you’re interested in creating a team of family and friends, or this guide to help with leading a workplace team.
There is no limit on the size of a team, and you don’t all have to ride the same route! In fact, your team members can include volunteers or other non-riders who can register as virtual riders. Potential team members could be:
- Members of your place of worship
- Members of your clubs, hobbies or other organizations
